Sweethearts Making Dumplings for Culture Camp Day on the 30th of September
Today we assembled together to help make delicious dumplings for Culture Camp Day on the 30th of September. The goal was to make 1000 dumplings for the attending children and their parents, within two hours. Our small group of 5 began the process of separating dumpling wrappers, filling and sealing the cute little parcels. Then our group grew until only 10 people could fit around the table at one time. There were three different fillings, including beef and vegetarian and there were two variations of how the dumplings were sealed; the Chinese way and the Russian way, which are similar to wantons. The next hour and a half was spent chatting and getting to know one another. We all worked very well as a team and it didn't take very long before we were finished. The old saying “Many hands make light work.” A quote by John Heywood. Some of us were able to sample the dumplings and they were delicious.
